My name is Kathy Knapp and one of my passions is helping people manage their money to live their best lives. Focusing on women is my way of helping to close the gender gap and provide women the power of choice in how they live their lives.
A graduate of Indiana University with over 25 years of experience in credit reporting and financial services, I have seen the importance of managing money and how quickly debt can build. I started taking budgeting and savings seriously early in my career and it has afforded me the opportunity to travel, spend time with my friends and family, and purchase and renovate my home. My savings plan allowed me to have an emergency fund and contribute to my retirement, giving me peace of mind. No time did I need that emergency fund more than at the end of 2020, when my job was eliminated. I always knew in the back of my mind, that this day would come in corporate America. I was a top performer but with the pandemic it was a numbers game, and my number was up. Having an emergency fund gave me the power of choice and time to decide on the next step.
Prior to starting My Budget Architect, I coached a close friend on budgeting, and I loved seeing the positive impact it had on their life then and now. With the support and encouragement of family and friends, I decided to make my business helping women with their finances. I knew that I could really help my fellow women, with my empathetic ear and great money management skills and I love being able to service a real need.
I believe financial security provides power of choice and is attainable and deserved by all women.
